March 29th, 2014. I dialed the 10 digits of a
long distant phone call, I was nervous. A man picked up who had a friendly Southern
accent, just what I was expecting.
“Hello, Brad Smith at Jubilee Partners.”
“Hi Brad, My name is Danielle Wolfe, I was calling to see if
you still had any positions open for fall 2014?”
“Ha, (Brad has this booming laugh that I won’t ever forget)
Why yes we do, let’s talk.”
The phone call lasted an extremely long time. Longer that I
was expecting it to, after an hour of chatting Brad interrupted me by saying “Just
so ‘ya know this is your interview.”
Crap. I hope I made a good impression.
The call ended with me freaking out and Brad telling me all
I have to do is write a 6 page paper about my life. Ha, that isn’t as easy as
one would think. And trust me when I said I freaked out about that paper.
One month. It took me one month and hundreds of edits before
I sent the final draft to Brad. That night I cried and prayed. “Lord, take me
where you need me”
Apparently that was at Jubilee Partners in Comer, Ga.
This is where my story takes place.
This is where I’m learning to live.
